Michael K. Bradley
Tournament Director

Michael Bradley created On The Ball Youth Basketball in 1993 in Tacoma, Washington. Youth basketball was very fragmented throughout the region and there was a need in Tacoma especially, in regards to competitive leagues and traveling teams. The program was created for competitive year round youth basketball in the Tacoma area. Prior to this program parents who were seeking for more competitive leagues and year round programs had to travel to Seattle. In 1995, On The Ball became a sanctioned AAU program and partnered with Northwest Sports, Inc. to further strengthen competitive youth basketball in the Pacific Northwest. This partnership between the two organization created a framework for young athletes to develop their basketball skills and exposure to national events. The two organizations combined the competitive teams from the South Puget Sound area and the North Puget Sound area into one AAU league under the umbrella of Pacific Northwest AAU. Teams from the North Puget Sound area play in Seattle (North Division) and teams from the South Puget Sound area play in Tacoma (South Division), with all teams coming together at the end of each league session for the Pacific Northwest AAU playoffs.

Mr. Bradley provides knowledge of the game through his own experience as a player at Eastern Oregon University, where he was selected three years in a row on the Pacific Northwest College All-Area Team. In 1980 Mr. Bradley was invited to the Portland Trailblazers and Phoenix Suns NBA Rookie Camp, where he played with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Bradley coached High School boys’ basketball for eight years and has taken his team to State for six of the eight years. To his credit, he has won both a National and State High School Championship. Mr. Bradley  coached the U.S. National High School Team from 1992-1994. He has been voted “Coach of the year” in 1995 & 1996 in the State of Washington.

Michael holds a BS from Eastern Oregon University and a M.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
